Day 0: Arrive in Aik Berik Village

  • Meet us and Stay overnight in Aik Berik  – Breafing and  preparation in the afternoo or evening

Day 1: Aik Berik – Pelawangan Aik Berik (Crater Rim Camp)

  • 07:00 AM: Meet at Aik Berik – registration and preparation.
  • 08:00 AM: Begin trekking through dense jungle, crossing rivers and lush meadows.
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch break in the jungle, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
  • 02:00 PM: Continue the ascent towards Pelawangan Aik Berik.

South Rinjani Expedition Terms & Condition

1. General Conditions

1.1. Participants must be physically and mentally healthy, and capable of taking full responsibility for themselves during the expedition.
1.2. Individuals with chronic illnesses (e.g., heart disease, severe asthma, uncontrolled hypertension, unstable diabetes, epilepsy), pregnant women, or those with acrophobia (fear of heights) or certain psychological conditions are advised not to participate.
1.3. The minimum participant age is 10 years, and the maximum is 60 years. Exceptions may apply with valid medical approval.
1.4. This is a self-supported expedition. Participants are required to cook, set up tents, and carry/manage all logistics independently, either individually or as a group.

2. Fees and Payment

2.1. Trekking fees are determined based on the selected package and are subject to change based on internal policies.
2.2. A deposit of 25% of the total fee is required to confirm booking.
2.3. Full payment must be completed before the scheduled departure date.
2.4. The 25% deposit is non-refundable, except in force majeure situations (e.g., official trail closure).
2.5. If cancellation occurs after full payment, the 25% deposit will be deducted. Bank transfer fees for any refund are the client’s responsibility.

3. Inclusions

3.1. The organizer is responsible only for the following items:

Documents & Accommodation:

  • Official entry ticket to Mount Rinjani National Park.
  • Active trekking insurance (basic coverage).
  • Medical certificate (facilitated upon request before departure).
  • One night accommodation before the expedition (around Aik Berik).
  • Local transportation:
    • From Aik Berik to the trekking start point.
    • From the finish point (Lantan Village) back to Aik Berik.

Camping Equipment:

  • Tent (1 tent per 2 participants).
  • Sleeping bag.
  • Sleeping mat.

Cooking & Eating Utensils:

  • Portable stove and gas canisters.
  • Nesting pot set for cooking.
  • Plates, cups, spoons, and forks.

3.2. Any other needs or equipment beyond the items listed above are the sole responsibility of the participant.

4. Participant Responsibilities

4.1. Participants must bring and carry their own food and beverages, either ready-to-eat or raw ingredients for cooking.
4.2. Participants must provide their own personal gear, including but not limited to:

  • Warm clothing and rain protection.
  • Personal medications and first aid items.
  • Headlamp or flashlight.
  • Water bottles or hydration system.
    4.3. Each participant must carry all expedition gear (camping, cooking, food, personal items) from start to finish independently.

5. Guide and Porter

5.1. The guide is responsible for leading the route, offering technical directions, and ensuring group safety.
5.2. The guide will not carry personal gear, cook, or set up tents for participants.
5.3. Porters are available on request with the following terms:

  • Fee: IDR 400,000 per porter per day.
  • Load limit: 20 kg per porter.

6. Trekking Ethics & Conduct

6.1. All participants must follow instructions from guides and porters.
6.2. Prohibited items include illegal drugs, alcohol, weapons, and items that may harm the environment.
6.3. All trash must be carried down. Participants are expected to follow “Leave No Trace” principles and support the Rinjani National Park’s Zero Waste policy.
6.4. Reusable items are encouraged over single-use products.

7. Safety and Emergencies

7.1. The organizer reserves the right to cancel or postpone trips due to hazardous weather or unsafe trail conditions.
7.2. While each participant is responsible for their own safety, the organizer will assist in emergencies to the best of their ability.
7.3. Basic insurance is included through the park entrance system, valid for the duration of the trek.

8. Force Majeure

8.1. The organizer is not liable for losses or damages caused by events beyond control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, extreme weather, road closures, or political unrest.

9. Additional Terms

9.1. Participants agree to comply with all regulations from the trekking organizer and Mount Rinjani National Park authorities.
9.2. Violation of rules or endangering the group may result in immediate termination of participation, without refund.

The best time to hike Mount Rinjani is during the dry season, from April to December. The national park is closed from January to March due to the rainy season and safety concerns.
